Welcome to The Grange Nursing Home, a warm and homely nursing home set in the peaceful village of Sherborne St John, just outside Basingstoke. Surrounded by the Hampshire countryside, The Grange provides nursing and personal care for up to 26 residents in relaxed and familiar surroundings.

Originally a farmhouse, The Grange has retained much of its character and enjoys beautiful views across the surrounding hills and meadows.

The Grange Nursing Home has built a strong reputation for trusted care, shaped by over 35 years of experience and a commitment to the people who call it home.

Accommodation

The Grange can accommodate up to 26 residents, across 26 single rooms furnished to provide a comfortable and personal space. We encourage residents to make their room feel like their own by bringing photographs, favourite furnishings and other familiar belongings. Couples can also be accommodated where suitable. Each room includes essential furnishings, a television and a call bell so that support is always close at hand.

Facilities

Life at The Grange combines the comfort of a smaller home with the space and tranquillity of its countryside setting. Residents can relax together in our communal areas, enjoy freshly prepared meals or find a quieter space to spend some time during the day. Our gardens and views across the surrounding countryside provide a particularly peaceful setting, especially during the warmer months. The Grangers, our residents’ bar and social space, offers another relaxed place to sit together, enjoy a conversation or simply unwind at the end of the day.

Activities

We believe everyone should have the opportunity to spend their day in a way that feels meaningful to them. Our activities programme includes arts and crafts, baking, games, gardening and other activities shaped around residents’ interests and abilities. During warmer weather, residents can enjoy the gardens and even take part in planting and tending the vegetable patch. The Grange also has strong links with the local community, with visits from local groups, choirs and schools bringing something different into the home throughout the year.

Under the management of Janet Campbell, a Registered Nurse, The Grange Nursing Home has continued its high standards of care and commitment to enhancing the quality of life for its residents.

Our nurses, carers and wider support team work together to make The Grange a comfortable and reassuring place to call home.

Ongoing training helps our team continue to develop their knowledge and respond confidently to the changing needs of our residents. Alongside our care staff, our activities, catering, housekeeping and maintenance teams all play an important part in everyday life at The Grange.

Above all, we want residents to feel known as individuals — with their choices respected, their independence encouraged and the right support available whenever they need it.

I found the staff very warm and welcoming each time I visited a great contrast to the hospital where no-one seemed to know about the patient.
